First years

My favourite time of year for people watching is always the beginning of the year on a university campus.

It is so easy and amusing to pick out the first years. They still have that newly matriculated sheen. The novelty of wearing casual clothes everyday has not worn off and they still have enough energy to keep up with the latest fashion trends. They have that excited gleam in their eyes. They have not yet been defeated by their first June exams. Life is good.

Oh, poor first years, enjoy it while it lasts.
